As Men of Sigma, we recognize that “Culture for Service and Service for Humanity” is more than a motto—it is a mandate for justice. Our Social Action programs are the heartbeat of our chapter, serving as the front line in the fight for equity, civil rights, and the well-being of the marginalized.
We don’t just observe the challenges facing our community; we organize to overcome them. From the ballot box to the local food bank, the Sigma Sigma Sigma Chapter is dedicated to being a visible, vocal, and vigorous force for progress.
As a result, our membership mobilizes to address the most pressing issues of our time through strategic initiatives:
- Voter Empowerment: Conducting non-partisan registration drives, “Get Out the Vote” (GOTV) campaigns, and other community activities to ensure our voices are heard
- Social Justice Advocacy: Partnering with organizations like the NAACP and NPHC to combat systemic inequality and advocate for police reform and judicial fairness
- Health & Wellness: Raising awareness and providing resources for critical health issues, including Blood Drives, Healthy Food Giveaways, Health Screenings along with partnerships such as the March of Dimes and American Cancer Society
- Community Outreach: Facilitating projects ranging from The John R Lewis Beloved Community Day, homelessness initiatives and clothing drives to partnerships with local churches and other NPHC organizations
Our Social Action programs including to the “John R. Lewis Beloved Community Day” are the heartbeat of our chapter, serving as the front line in the fight for equity, civil rights, and the well-being of the marginalized.
