TMB Foundation

The Taylor Morse Brown (TMB) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarships, mentoring, and community resources to low-income families and underprivileged young men in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Launched in 2013, the foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Its name honors the three founders of the fraternity: A. Langston Taylor, Leonard F. Morse, and Charles I. Brown.

The foundation’s work is rooted in the fraternity’s motto, “Culture for Service and Service for Humanity.” Its primary objectives include:

  • Academic Excellence: Providing annual scholarships to college-bound students and promoting high academic performance.
  • Mentorship: Delivering programs that focus on social and economic sustainability for young men in local schools and communities.
  • Community Advocacy: Serving as a voice for inner-city development and social issues through strategic partnerships.

The TMB Foundation partners in several “hands-on” community programs throughout the year:

  • Youth Support: Distributing backpacks and school supplies, and sponsoring educational conference registrations for young men.
  • Essential Needs: Hosting winter coat drives and collecting clothing and sleeping bags for the homeless.
  • Life Skills: Promoting healthy living and providing guidance that encourages young men to graduate high school and pursue higher education.
